Default can someone help me, please!!!!

i have always wanted a bug senice i was like 10, so i want to buy a pre 1998 bug and fully restore it! but i have a few questions about what i'm looking for.
like, is there a certain year i should avoid?
do any years come with power stearing or power breaks?
how much is to much to pay?
i know there are automatics but is there a certain year that vw started making automatics?
if anyone can help me out it would be really great,

If your going to purchase one that recent, and then restore it, you
will have more in it than just purchasing a new one, or close to it,
and wont have a warranty.

i'm not looking for a newer one, there would be no point in that for me! i'm thinking between 1968 and 1974.

Then I assume your looking for a REAL VW BUG and not the
newer vehicle they call a beetle. The last good year for the Bug
was 1967, the first good year was 1962. They didn't have power
steering or power brakes, it wasn't needed. The beetles above
1967 had a lot of brakedown issues and just were not that good.
They were a night mare to repair and maintain. The years you
mentioned would not be a great choice for restore unless you
have plenty of money and don't care if you drive much or not.

A BIG 10-4
Just don't jump on the first one you see, and know what
your looking at before you purchase.
