my 01 vw beetle's clutch is stuck in 3rd gear and will not come out! I have already replaced the clutch and the tranny is still good. I saw on another forum that there is a nut that you can loosen to get it out but I cant find it. Has anyone ever heard of this?

I just replaced my '01's clutch, fly wheel and pressure plate. While working on it, I noticed that there are many ways that the mechanicals can be interfered with. Wiring for example can block the counter weight.

Check to see that everything can move freely. Check all your linkages as well. One could have popped off.
