Default banging noise 2000 beetle

Hello - i have a 2000 beetle, yesterday it started to bang, at first it was as though i had a flat, but all tireswere fine, but the noise and the feeling insideis the same as when you get flat. As i drove home it got worse, the banging speeded up until it became a constant bang bang bang.we think its coming from the frontright. If you turn the car in a circle to the right it stops making the noise if you turn in a circle to the left it bangsas if its going forward. Any ideas? i will take it to a vw mechanic tomorrow but it would be great to have some idea first. Thanks.

Just a good guess, it sounds like CV joints on the right
side axle.
