The heat and air have stopped working in my 2000 or 2001 VW Bug. It is the 2.0L.

I drove to the store (in June) and the air conditioning worked fine. After coming out and starting the car, the blower did not blow anything through the vents. I checked all the fuses and they were all fine.

Now it is winter, and the heat does not work. Hot air does come through the vents if you have it set to on, and are driving fast down the highway.

I have now quickly checked the connection to the blower under the glove box, and all seemed fine.

I also checked the relays (under the steering wheel). I read on another thread that the relay might be one that says "53" So i swapped these out figuring one would be good, but nothing worked. The dealer wants 200 bucks just to look at it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
