Default ABS Light and ASR Light Coming On

On a 2000 Turbo Beetle I recently purchased the ABS and ASR light randomly come on. It doesn't seem to affect the car in any way but I was just wanting to correct what ever the problem might be. I thought it might be just a front ABS sensor, since the ASR and brake system are tied together (or at least that is what I understand). The lights does not stay on and the ABS light stays on slightly longer than the ASR light does. They are ususally not on any longer than 20 minutes or so at a time. Does anyone have any idea what I could do to correct this problem?

You really need to find someone with VAG-COM\VCDS to do an Auto-Scan to see what error codes come back. It could be a faulty ABS sensor but that should tell you which one.
