2K NB A/C blower dead, need help
Hi to all,
I am newto this forumand quite new to the "New Beetle" vehicle anatomy although very experienced in older VW's and domestic technology.
PROBLEM:
The A/C and heater blower just stopped working on my wife's New Beetle, worked one day & dead the next. I checked all the fuses in the "Instrument fuse panel" & top of vehicle battery, no blown fuses.
The instrument panel A/C mode switch does not illuminate and all fan speed modes are dead, in other words; nothing works, no heater or A/C blower functions, the A/C compressor does not engage either. The recirculating air switch next to the A/C switch does work though.
I have further tests to perform such as checking the A/C cycling switch and checking the system for freon pressure, there are nonoticable freon leaks under the hood or inside the cab, not to say it's possibly empty due to a sudden rupture in the system, I currently have no clue as to what has happened because I don't drive the car. I don't have a Shop Repair Manual for this car either.
I was wondering if anybody has delt with this problem before and if there is something I should check in addition?
Any suggestions are appreciated
