Default 2006 beetle p0171 issues 125,000 miles

i have a friends 06 beetle sedan 2.5 auto and it has the p0171 code. it also gets a bunch of p0300 codes and it sometimes gets the p2196 bias/stuck code.
i did the t-stat as it had the t-stat code and that has not returned. but all the rest have. i did the pcv valve the purge valve. the oil filter adapter although that is not related i think? i did a vacuum test and it is 19" but i had to recalibrated the vacuum gage so today i will do it again and see if it has changed. i had it idling and pulled the maf connector off and the engine stumbled and slowed down some and ran smooth and when i put that back on the engine quit.

so i did a fuel pressure test but that is not good as the gage was not calibrated so today i will do it again but with the old gage i had 58 psi and 42 psi off for 30 minutes.
i sprayed starting fluid all over the air components from the maf tot eh TB and the intake and injectors and the tubes that connect to the air tube and intake. and i did not get a stumble or a rise in rpms

i revved it up to 4000 rpms when i was doing the fuel pressure and when i let of the gas it started to surge and after a short time it leveled out to 700 rpms.

today i will redo the fuel pressure as i got a new gage on the tester, i will also do the vacuum again as i recalibrated that as well and i will report back

i will get new live data as i'm doing the fuel pressure test. i will do rpm,maf,map,02 sensor trims short and long. is there any other live data you want to see.

will freeze frames do any good?

i'm starting to lean on the 02 sensor as the main issue as that now is the first fault on the list and i think the rich trims are the reason for the misfires as it is loading up and that may be the surge also. being they have 125k on them they may be worn out. i think she drove this car with the engine light on for years so that all of these fault happened and she did not care until it started running bad.

today i will take the 02 sensor connectors apart and make sure they are clean and if i can get ohms on the heaters terminal 3 and 4 i found out and maybe some numbers on the sensors but being a 6 wire i have no clue what wires to check do you think the scanner volts for the sensors are enough for volt readings and just do the heaters on them to make sure they are working.

so what else am i missing? thanks
