Default 2001 Beetle Issues...

Hi!

After replacing the clutch and LCA bushings, the car now has other issues. It still needs the radiator, condenser and cooling fan assembly replaced. I have those parts already.

When I was test driving the car, after about 10 minutes, the oil indicator light began flashing. What does that mean? Oil level is in between min and max.

Also the airbag light came on, and the traction control light comes on. pushing the button does nothing for the traction control. I really do not like computer controlled cars.

Also, the engine will surge at idle. Goes from idle to 1500 rpm.

Now, the battery was disconnected during the clutch and suspension repairs. Took about a month or so to get this far. The car is not registered or inspected, so I cannot take it out on the open road. I can only test drive in my neighborhood without attracting the cops, so 35 mph is max.

So, any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

With those lights flashing you need your motor scanning for any error codes logged in the ecu as that will save alot of guessing.

It's just the oil light that flashes, but only after running the car for about 10 minutes. It will happen during a turn, take off or stop.

Shut the engine off and restart it, no more flashing, unless you start to drive. I have searched for a possible cause, but nothing was found.

Thanks!
