Arrow 1976 beetle fuel injection problems

GOD I can't wait for 1976 cars to be smog exempt. Hopefully they'll push the smog date back again in the next couple of years. I want to tear out the fuel injection unit and stick a carburetor on there but my mechanic said it won't pass smog

Anyway, apparently my auxiliary air valve is shot (I only have a vague idea of what this is and the purpose it serves). My car is barely driveable so I just put-put to the store and back for fear of breaking down.

I can't seem to find new or used auxiliary air valves for a 1975-79 beetle anywhere. Does anyone have one they'll sell me or know of a place where I could buy one? Used, new, reconditioned, whatever. I just want my car to work again, I'm getting sick of the bus!
