1971 Beetle clutch chatter question
Hi,
I have a 1971 beetle that i converted into a buggy. I am experiencing problems of clutch chatter when i go from from stop to first but not anywhere else. (ie stop to reverse, or 1st to 2nd). I have been reading that this could be caused by the bowden tube, which i think I installed correctly. However, i also appear to have a very small oil leak coming from where the engine seals to the transmission. My question is if i do have a main seal leak and oil is getting on the clutch would this cause chatter through all the gears or only from stop to 1st. Im just wondering if i should play around with the bowden tube before i go trough the trouble of dropping the engine.
Thanks
