I have a 1960 bug and lost the keys. How do I change the ingnition cylinder lock

 

I have the same problem with my 71. What did you do? a locksmith quoted me $125 today to make a new key.

 

actually what I did is buy a new cylinder lock with the key...I carfully drilled our the old lock....it came out and replaced with new one...be careful not to drill to deep otherwise you will have to replace the ignition wiring
