1983 Volkswagen Rabbit convertible. This is the last year they made a Rabbit before they called it a Cabrio. I’ve had the car for about 12 years now. When I purchased the car I went through everything. The paint is ultra bright white and it still looks great. Last year I did a tune up, muffler and new tires etc. The front and rear bumper is not an aftermarket replacement. It was a factory option that was not seen much. The top is OEM and again not aftermarket and it was replaced when I purchased it. Still look real real great. The wipers do not work and it needs a radio. But the speakers and wires have been replaced. This car still runs great. Since I’ve had it I probably only put on a little over 12k on it. Last year the speedo stopped working and hasn’t been driven since. I purchased it with 132k on it and now it says 144K. The car still starts on the first turn. This car has never been a daily driver, only on nice days or fall evening, NO WINTERS. Only reason I’m getting rid of it is because one of my kids complains it’s too hot and one complains about too much wind when we take it out. So don’t really use it anymore. Car is sold as is and will not be delivered, located in RI. Call Dan @ 401 575 1108.

RE: 1983 Volkswagen Rabbit convertible 5 speed
No it's an 83. I was always under the impression that the convertible rabbit ended in 83 and then 84 was the cabrio. But the hard top was still made after 83 and called a Rabbit. But I could be wrong.
