Touran opinions please
Hi All,
Just looking for some opinions here. We have to trade in for a people carrier as we have twins on the way. we are giong to test drive a 2005 touran tomorrow. 1.9 diesel with 60km on the clock.
I remember a mechanic telling me before that evertime you service a VW you need to change the various pumps also. This has kind of put me off VW a bit but nobody else has ever mentioned that to me. Is it true? Do you find these cars in particular expensive to run?
thanks

RE: Touran opinions please
Well, I'm a little late in replying - but c'est la vie.
I've had mine 4 years but never had the pumps changed in service, and I've never found it expensive to run (other than when the price of diesel sky-rocketed!). It traditionally has a pretty decent mpg range which was another factor in why I bought in the first place.
In terms of being a people carrier - when I was buying, it easily beat all the competition because despite looking compact on the outside, it really is quite roomy on the inside, and those extra 2 fold up seats at the back were a winner - taken the outlaws out in those many a time.
I don't know if you ever bought or not, but if you did, I'd be surprised if you were disappointed now.
