Just purchased a 2012 CC Lux Plus. Get an error message that reverse camera not available. Has anyone had this issue and if so what was the fix. I see that there are a lot of Volkswagen reverse cameras that are manufactured in China and Hong Kong and each one (E-Bay) has a requirement that the head unit requires an RCA connection. Can I just replace the VW emblem that houses the camera and can I get this from Volkswagen? (Occasionally the VW emblem will flip open and the camera is exposed but not working.)

 

Is it an OEM camera?

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing.

Yes it is OEM. This VAG-COM\VCDS scan can this be done at Autozone of is it Dealer specific?

 

VCDS is the only DIY diagnostic tool for VAG vehicles.

AutoZone will do a free scan but I don't think they use VCDS.

A dealer is a good bet but they aren't cheap for a diagnostic.

 

Best luck is an Independent dealer with a VCDS, at least their diagnostic charge won't be as expensive as the VW Dealer. Good luck!
