So I am new to VW's and I really need some general info on this car to make it much easier to buy parts and stuff.

Currently online I can't find much info about this car like what is the name of the Engine, Tranny etc. It would be awesome if you guys could help me figure this out I have found that this is what they used to call a Passat but what I don't know is if the parts are interchangeable from other VW's in the 80's.

Any type of information you guys can help me out with will be awesome!
