Bought a car with clean carfax and found out it was in an accident! Fraud!
I bought a vehicle that had front end damage from a collision, which wasn't disclosed by the seller. And he’d shown me a CARFAX report, which also didn't show any accident records — the car was absolutely clean according to it. However, I ran a report on another website, epicvin.com, and it showed that the car was in an accident and then repaired. I don't know why this information wasn't disclosed by CARFAX, but now I'm aware that CARFAX isn’t a service that can be trusted, and I won't use it again.
That's a good point made by badbeetlebug, because a similar thing almost happened to me. I would have been angry with CarFax, only to discover that it wasn't a true report. So take the time to verify the CarFax report that you are given
Yeah those mistakes are very easy to overlook if you don't pay close attention and have a keen eye for detail. Luckily it seems that you caught the mistake before anything happened
That's a really unfortunate experience
