Bought a car with clean carfax and found out it was in an accident! Fraud!
I bought a vehicle that had front end damage from a collision, which wasn't disclosed by the seller. And he’d shown me a CARFAX report, which also didn't show any accident records — the car was absolutely clean according to it. However, I ran a report on another website, epicvin.com, and it showed that the car was in an accident and then repaired. I don't know why this information wasn't disclosed by CARFAX, but now I'm aware that CARFAX isn’t a service that can be trusted, and I won't use it again.

That's a really unfortunate experience:eek:, I always thought they were a reputable company

Are you sure that the report came from CarFax? Was it a printed report? Its so easy to modify anything printed today with Photoshop.

That's a good point made by badbeetlebug, because a similar thing almost happened to me. I would have been angry with CarFax, only to discover that it wasn't a true report. So take the time to verify the CarFax report that you are given
