Default turbo timer

Ok boys and girls, ive got a question... well more of a pondering i could use some help with. Ive been looking at turbo timers because i care about my car and i want my turbo to last, though i hate sitting in my car for 2 minutes after i park it. So that being said, I'm wondering about my car being a standard and the turbo timer keeping it running after i pull the key.... will i have to leave the car in neutral with the ebrake on all the time so for teh turbo timer to work? i asked a few guys about this at shops that were selling lower end TTs and they said yes i would have to leave it in neutral all the time, which makes since but i dont like the idea of that. Are the higher end TTs the same way or are they some that can somehow bypass this. Ive learned through my saab and a few friends cars not to trust ebrakes that much and that leaving the car in gear is the best way to make sure it wont roll.
anyone have any knowledge on the subject let me know appreciated ahead of time
