i have a 1.8l and the wopping 90 hp isnt enough for me so im considering turbocharging it, would it be wiser to buy a turbo seperatly and whcih do you prefer? im looking at a garrett right now, or would it be better to just yank a motor out of a gti?

 

I think the results would be greater if you were to just pull out of an 03 -04' gti turbo charging the current motor you have wont be the same. The 03's are tuned with the turbo plus a couple of ad ons and you should like the outcome. But you gotta also consider price. I most likely will cost more for the swap.
