Does anyone have any idea on how to turn off the seat belt chime electronically?

Welcome to the forum.

We don't have many Amarok owners on here. More details needed please put you car spec in your signature.

I tuned off my seat belt chime with VCDS.

Seat Belt Chime/Reminder

Now I never drive without a seat belt but there are a couple of occasions when the beeping becomes annoying. When I goto the supermarket I take a bag of bottles/jars for the bottle bank. I drop then in the bins and get back in to drive and find a parking space and it keeps on bleeping away. When I drop off my drinking buddy here unclips his belt has we are coming upto his house which is only 30 yards but it bleeps away again.

Navigate to 17 - Instruments

Select Coding - 07

Select Coding - Long Coding
Continue with arrow down on keyboard until Byte 1 is showing then untick Bit 1

Then back to the main window and click the Do-It button, a message coding accepted will show. Its the bleep I wanted to disable but this does both the bleep and the warning light.

Now any coding you change is saved to \Ross-Tech\VCDS\Debug\CodingLog.TXT so at least you have a file with any coding changes you have made so you can change the numbers back if need be?

e.g. Seat belt

Thanks Keith, I certainly dont drive around the roads with out the seat belt however on farm when you are in and out doing what we do the chime only adds to any frustration that may be going on at the time.
Certain cars i've read can turn the chime off thru a series of pushing vdo button clicking the turn indicator putting the seat belt in and out etc;
Just thought someone may have worked it out.

I haven't heard of that method but if you can find more info then please post the links in here.

What year and engine is used in your Amarok?

Thanks Keith,

2lt Diesel, 2011. These are only new on the market and after owning a multitude of Toyotas this vehicle is set to give the hilux range a run for its money.
Don't believe their fuel figures it is simular to a hilux at 9.3lt/100 as apposed to 7.8lt/100 in the brochure.
Its excellent in the mud once you put decent shoes on it and handles better than a hilux on rough roads.
The speedo is set for 17 in tyres not factory fitted 16 in on the poverty pack with the dealer seemingly unable to rectify this, so you have to sit on 109km/hr to get actual 100km/hr. Mind you it gets 7.8lt/100km if you adhere to indicated 100km/hr.
Anyway early days yet.
