Serpentine Belt Dual Clutch

Serpentine Belt Dual Clutch
Hello,
I am in Australia, and we have a 2011 T5, automatic. Suits the family's needs very well.
Unfortunately, we have had to replace the serpentine belt 3 times: twice in the last year.
Our mechanic has told that the issue is caused by the Dual Clutch System impacting the Belt Transmission Tightener, which in turn effects the belt.
He cannot fix, saying only the Stealership can do, which will cost au$4000 (2,200 GBP; US$2,800) AND the vehicle will be off the road for 2-3 weeks.
I have searched this site for Serpentine Belt posts, but none seem to relate to our particular recurring problem; while Dual Clutch is not recognised by the Search facility.
As you can guess by now, I am a leper when it comes to cars (dish washers, lawn mowers, toasters, staplers, etc).
I have a few questions, please:
1- Can you recommend a cheap, but powerful Scotch that will temporarily help me forget that woe?
2- Could there be another reason for the belt problem besides replacing the Dual Clutch System?
3-If the stated cause of the problem is correct, is there another work around?
4-If we do follow that path, is $4k about right as a fix?
Thank you.
Merry Christmas
