Hi there VWF
Hi there everyone not sure if I have posted here before as its been a while since I first registered. I'm 21 years old and currently on an apprenticeship studying youth work. Last September I bought a VW 1.4 Golf and just had some questions for anyone who might be able to help me out.
1. What is the recommended psi for 18" wheel alloys? - I was told 34 by my MOT provider but just wanted to ask anyone else.
2. What would you say is the mpg for a 1.4litre? - I seem to be getting around 35-45
3. I made a little document to help me keep track of my expenses on my petrol and it seems like I fill up every 12-13 days which is about £40 - roughly getting a total of 280-300 miles (not sure if I should be getting more).
4. I don't know if I may have a faulty petrol gauge as it seems to drop dramatically after a few days filling up. My place of work is only about 10 miles (there and back) but sometimes the gauge doesn't drop too much. Most of the time it drops quickly to about halfway usually about 80miles and then takes time from there where I get about 200 miles from the other half of the tank.
I do drive safely but when it comes to national speed limit I do at least 60, don't tend to bother doing 70 and when it comes to 30mph zones I never go over that.
