Hi!

So I picked up a 2006 GTI from a neighbor, my very first VW. Been driving GM's and Japanese cars for entire adult life. Due to a head on crash (guy turned in front of me), my beloved Honda Civic was totaled. Neighbor was selling the GTI for a friend's estate, as the owner had recently passed. I bought the GTI out of desperation, as I needed a car real bad. I got a great deal, only paid $2K, but high miles at 196K. Car is in beautiful shape and was well maintained. I have just about all the service and repair records from the beginning...I really lucked out!

I'm in love with this car, it is so much fun! Since owning I've replaced both axles, CAM follower, brakes, and oil change. Shopping for intake…and maybe Stage 1 tune. Not sure if I want to stress a motor with near 200K miles. It runs perfect right now, and pulls really hard. Just did a 2000 mile trip up and down the east coast and she ran perfect!

The DGS is amazing, and my next maintenance action will be to replace fluid and filter.
