Hey Volks
I was recently given a 66 Beetle, it was my wife's uncle's car he intended to give his daughter... she didin't like the idea of driving a standard.. and the bug admittedly needed some exterior work.. long story short .. he gave it to us. So I sunk about 1500 into the engine, clutch, brakes and bit of body work done by me...and you have:

Work to date:
entirely new clutch and replaced clutch fork (thanks D&G auto)
New brake system
Replaced the points, new condenser, cables to distributor
switched out the exhaust from the goofy header setup that was on there.. replaced with stock.
new fender wheel well lights, these were missing
replacement hubcap
New stereo
replaced the interior door panels to accomodate speakers
Anyhow.. I was never really a car dude, I am a graphic artist/programmer as well as building and maintaining computer networks (My company)by trade and have come to find out that the old beetle provides much needed 'Analog Therapy'
I find myself dinking more and more with the car everyday. So I thought I should join up with a forum for some much needed advice.
Thanks In Advance
