Default Hello

Hello everyone! New member here, as you may can tell. Looking around for info and advice. I have came across a 2001 Beetle, crank but no start. Needs some TLC, but getting it the right price. So expect to see more of me soon.

Welcome to the forum.

Its nice to see you made an intro on your own.

Is the immobilizer light on in the dash?

It could be the 109 relay which is the power feed to the ecu. You can crank it all day and it will never start. If you have a 109 relay keep a spare one in the car as they can go at any time.

Please tell us your car spec in your signature

Thanks for the tip! And where might this 109 relay be located?

I'm not sure on your 2001 Beetle without I search ElsaWin. Probably the relay carrier under the dash. You can Google its location.

We have added to the VW family here. We picked up a 2001 Jetta GLS, VR6 (AFP), M5. Currently have the trans out and replacing the timing components. Wish me luck.
