Has anyone experienced the exterior door handle sensor not working to unlock or lock the driver's side door. The passenger side door works perfectly still. Is this something that happens often and is there a fix. I'm willing to try. I haven't been able to find information about this problem. I did contact VW parts and the handle and the sensor are all together and I would need to replace the door handle ($264.65) and then I would have to get it painted to match the car.

Any help or advice is appreciated.
