Default Engine type...AFP or BDF

Longtime fan but a new owner of a GTI. I have a question regarding engine type. When I shop for parts online, sites ask me what type of engine I have, AFP or BDF, and I cant find this anywhere under the hood.

I have a 2002 GTI and its a 24 valve, six-speed, VR6. Can anyone lend a hand?

I found a tag in the spare tire compartment that had "BDF" on it...so now I know what I got but have no idea what it means...

For the benefit of anyone else searching this topic... I have an 02 Jetta VR6. I didn't have a sticker in the spare tire compartment like the other guy. However, there wasa sticker on the engine...you have to take the plastic cover off on the left side to get to it.
