Hey guys,

Quick question. Why do some of the new 2012 Jetta GLI Autobahn models have a speedometer that reads a top-speed of 180mph and others read 160mph instead? Just curious.

Absolutely love my new 2012 GLI, btw. It has everything I want in a car. Can't wait to take it for a long road trip.

I can only assume it depends which engine is fitted 140PS or 170PS mine shows 180mph?

I don't understand. Don't all 2012 Jetta GLI cars come equipped with the same engine?... If that isn't the case, why can't I find a different engine choice for the 2012 GLI anywhere on the internet?

Mine shows 160mph.

I'm confused!

maybe it has to do with the transmission on the 2012 GLI? what transmission do you have?

 

I have the 6 speed Automatic DSG transmission, but I've noticed that both the manual and the automatic trasmission appear to have varying top speeds on the speedometer.

Is this a regional thing? Do US spec 2012 GLI Autobahn models have a different top speed than the Canadian spec?...
