2006 Beetle 2.5 oil leak
Hello all, I'm a new member with an oil leak. I have a 2006 Beetle 2.5. Last summer it started leaking oil bad. I put a vacuum pump seal kit on but it still
leaks oil witch seems to favor the right side of the engine. After putting the vacuum pump seal kit on I took it for a ride, let it run while sitting in a parking
lot for 20 minutes or better. I looked under the engine and no oil on the ground. Drove home, shut it off. A 1/2 hour 45 minutes later there was a big oil
spot on the ground. Is there something that will leak only when the engine is not running? I bought some UV dye to try but if someone could point out
where to focus my attention I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance from a Forum newbie.

Well, I must say I'm a little disappointed in the forum. Didn't even get a, Welcome to the Forum reply.
Anyway, I'll answer my own post. Incase someone experiences a similar Problem. The vacuum pump seal kit took care of
the upper oil leak. The bigger leak underneath favoring the right side, after dropping the pan to put
a new gasket on. Turns out the pan developed a pin hole some how, so I replaced it with a new one. End of oil leak. Hope it helps someone.
