Default Best Intake for 2003 jetta 1.8T

Hey everyone, im new to this Forum but i need advice, i just bought a 2003 jetta 1.8T 5 speed.. its a fun little car. Im looking into doing a few things too it and here in NY its snowing and good time to be working on it too much snow. But first im looking at cold air intakes.. a good sounding one for my model and good air flow, mabe some sound clips if anyone has any. Next im looking at that HKS SSQ blow off valve, any input on if its good? friend of mine had one and i loved the sound. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

hey bro im in kinda the same position your in, i live in colorado and it snowy here too. a couple of my buddies have gotten the intakes that relocate the filter kinda by the wheel wells (although they wernt in vw's) they sucked up water and had to rebiuld there engines. so in my 03 1.8t i got a silicone intake hose a k&n filter and a heat sheild and it works great. noticeable hp gain and wont suck up water

I made my own intake, got the idea from one of the other guys on here. The post may still be under the intake headings. You use the same stock airbox, use a K & N air filter, and you pull out the plastic pipe in front of the headlight. Now the bottom of the airbox is open, run an aluminum 3in flexible hose into the airbox and run it down to get air. Mine is directly inbehind the 3 grill pieces in the bottom of the front bumper. I replaced those 3 black plastic pieces with diamond plated mesh grill from www.bodykits.net for only $25, yes it's true!! Comes with 2 sheets, I did those 3 pieces, cut them with scissors, and still had a lil left over. Any further info on this let me know.

I've looked everywhere all over the web, I can't find any superchargers or turbos on any site for the MK4 VR6. I'm not sure where to look anymore.
