Default What is this?

There is some kind of plastic mechanism through which water/coolant flows that sits up against the side of the engine block of my 2000 Jetta. It has coolant hoses attached to each side. Is it my water pump? This is my first VW, and my water pumps have always looked a lot different.

Does anyone know where it bolts on and off? It's hard to get to, but it doesn't look like there are any attaching bolts readily accessible.

Ok, I've figured out that this is my coolant flange. Any tips on installing a new one?
