just got it is is a 02 1.8t jetta and right after starting it makes a medium pitch squeal and it goes away almost immeaditly some car dealer said there is a solenoid that is causing the noise no check engine light or trouble code and car runs great other than that any one out there heard of this before...

 

My Jetta does it too. I've heard all kinds different things, like the solenoid, the ground, the contacts or the starter. I'm probably just going to wait for the starter to konk out and replace the whole thing.

 

turned out it was the starter the dealership in which I bought the car went ahead and replaced it...
but some how de-programed my remote and shorted the door ajar sensor out my theory is that they let that
connector for the door lite arch across something b/c the lens was not snaped in the door pannel when I picked up the car yesterday.... so it is now back at the dealership again.. they have now had the car longer than I have in my possesion since I bought it on friday last week. I hope this car is not the piece of crap I am thinking it is at this point..really runs strong though
