Temperature gauge

Having a problem with my 04 gt tdi 2.0 golf, the temperature gauge isn't registering any temp reading. I changed sensor to standard new sensor, caused several emissions faults to happen. I then got a proper vw sensor an resolved my fault problems but temp gauge still not registering. Car blowing hot air and functioning as normal, any ideas?

Welcome to the forum. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1.../VWwelcome.gif

The first thing to check is to see if the thermostat is operating correctly. If you've never had it changed then replace it they aren't that expensive.

You could really do with having your motor scanned for any error codes logged in the ecu.

Hey Keith

Thanks for response, since posting the temperature gauge has magically started working, takes a little longer than most to display temperature but now is functional to correct temp. Having problem with emissions workshop fault though, plugged in to diagnostic tool and not really giving too much away. Don't no if its related as was working fine previously before change temp sensor.

Thanks for responses

Scotty
