So I joined this forum to see what knowledge I can gain. I want to build a street/strip car. The car of my choice is a mk1 golf. I want to know what the best engine would be to use for handling a good bit of power but also not $20k expensive. I want about 400-500 horses. The three engines I think would be best are the golf 1.8t, the Jetta 2.8l vr6, and the 1.9t. If anyone has any help for me or has a better engine as a candidate or what I could use to build one of these engines that would be great. Like I said it's just going to be a weekend car and I don't want to over do it.
