Hello, just looking for some friendly help. I'm posting this for a friend that forgot to buy the computers for dummies book.

He has a '75 vw bug and just put a 1776cc engine swap in it. The problem is the trans, clutch not engaging. Worked just fine with old motor. He thinks it might need a different shaft for the trans? Hopefully its just something simple someone here may have had a problem with.

they have 2 diffrent clutch plates
one has a coller on it and the other one dosnt
same transmitions other than the differnt clutches and through out bearings and the newer trans has a sleave that the to bearing slides on
put the old clutch plate on the new motor and you will be fine
