Default Coolant leak and ?

My new to me 99 MK4 Golf GL 2.0 with 150k is scheduled to go in for a new clutch on Tuesday. Today I noticed a puddle of coolant under the front when I moved the car at lunch. I have coolant dripping off the bolts where the trans bolts to the engine. The engine bay is very clean and dry, no coolant anywhere. All hoses are dry. So my ? is when a VW water pump goes or starts to go is there a weep hole where coolant will leak as the bearings start to fail like a Chevy v8 would be prone to do? The car sits on an incline that tilts it to the drivers side. I am theorizing the pump is leaking and the coolant is traveling under the plastic oil pan cover to the other side of the engine and then finding its way onto the bolts. If this is feasible, actually I am hoping this is something someone has experience with, then I am going to wait till the clutch is done and do a timing belt and water pump replacement. The car had its pump and timing belt replaced at 60k due to pump failure. Any ideas?

It would be nice if I could let the pump and timing belt go till Spring. I am not sure to what and where you are referring to. I can see where the head meets the block but am not sure about the "flange". Could you please elaborate?

Thanks, I now see what you are talking about, unfortunately it is bone dry so no leak there.
