Default Blue smoke at start up

I have a 2000 2.0L gas Jetta thathas been blowing out a cloud of blue smoke at start up. Any idea what this could be or howto fix it? The car has about 180,000 kms on it (roughly 120,000 miles). There hasn't been any noticable power loss, and it seems fine while running. It looses about 1L of oil in-between changes, which doesn't seem that bad to me.

Thanks man. I kind've figured that might be the problem. Am I right in assuming that it won't be a big deal if I don't bother fixing it right away? It doesn't seem to lose much oil, and valve seals... they'll be pretty expensive right?
