Default 1998 Golf III

Help

I purchased a 1998 Golf a few weeks ago. It has several Nuespeed parts on it, cam, cam gear, p-chip, fresh air kit, short shift kit, and some other suspension parts.

I need some help with the shifter. It will go into reverse, or it seems like it does, but it won't stay in reverse. Is there something out of adjustment or is this normal for the short shift kit?

How can I tell if it is the linkage or if it is the reverse gear or syncros?

It also has an Eibach lowereing kit. It is lowered 1.6" (I think). How can I take this off and raise it back up? Do I have to buy the stock springs or is it just removing after maerket parts?

Thanks for the help.
