Default trim

Has anyone taken the little piece of trim off the side of the car: golf, GTI, or jetta? If so post a pic or two.
Ive thought about it before and even more-so now that my passenger side has a gouge in it from where someone doored me.
Is it just adhesive? i imagine so, i took off my emblems already with a heeat gun so if thats the case it shouldnt be too hard.
