Not sure how many people here are in the UK, but recently Nationwide announced that Liverpool Victoria would be supplying a number of their insurance products, not least car insurance:

I've looked at NW car insurance, but it still comes up a little pricey - however, reading up on a review of Direct Line car insurance is seems that the bottom line is that "you get what you pay for" in insurance.

I was thinking of going with DL, but in having kids, I don't want to risk paying for cheap insurance and getting poor service - if I should ever need to make a claim (god forbid!) then I would absolutely want to ensure it was settled more quickly.

What do you think - is it worth saving a few pounds or is this really just an invitation to a lot of hassle?
