Ive just bought a 2017 Tiguan R-Line, which is an import from Australia. The Sat Nav on the dash above the gear stick works fine, however, the Sat Nav on the dash behind the steering wheel does not start and continuously shows “Starting maps view” and never starts. When I reported this to VW, they said that they needed replace the whole media centre, literally hardware and software at a cost of £6035. This sounds like just a software issue to me let alone a huge cost, but I’m not an expert. Any thoughts or people’s opinions on this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.
