I test drove a few cars and don't remember if I checked the fader on the stereo for the Jetta I bought. I had an amplifier and new speakers added to the car. They did not remove the stereo as part of the install. The tech says he checked out the balance in the car before he started work and says that there were no fade controls before he started. There are no fade controls now, only left/right balance. We did a factory reset and no change. The rear speakers are connected and working fine. The stereo is the basic one that comes with the 2019 Jetta SE.

Can anyone confirm they have fade control on their 2019 Jetta SE?

Can anyone suggest anything I can check to get my fade control working?

Yes, it should have a fade control. Wondering if adding the amp made the rear speakers hidden to the stereo even though they work and play music.

 

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.

 

Do I need to do that at a dealership or is that a common thing most mechanics would have?

 

It depends which garage you use, a lot of garages use a generic scanners as they work on a lot of makes and models.

A VW garage/specialist should have VAG-COM\VCDS.

In the UK a dealer will charge £70 just to do a diagnostic scan only with a printout of the results.
