Window Regulator cable

Window Regulator cable
My 98 Cabrio is having window issues.
We took the door apart & found the cable that runs thru the regulator was frayed & bunched up in a knot.
Any ideas on a generic window regulator? Or if its possible to just replace the cable?
Thanks

I just replaced the drivers side of a 95 with a 98 jetta drivers side ($25 in salvage yard) only difference is there is no glass adjustment, you just have to be careful to close the door b4 u roll up the window all the way, but really how often does anyone roll up the window w/ door open?

I think replace is the best and ideal option now a days. I think you try on the net and you find plenty of sites which gives good replacement offer for this product. Otherwise you visit the company service center and it gives better solution of this issue.

Thanks to sharing your battery opinion. Recently i repaired right power window regulator and others may benefit from my experience. I have cable and the motor are working properly. I heard a loud snap window to full position. Glass slide down about half.

You can get the whole assembly from ebay for about 45 bucks, much easier this way.
