Default leaking oil

Hey all, as you can prolly tell I'm new to the forums here. I'm looking into purchasing a 1973 super beetle. The gent I'm purchasing it from has taken overall decent care of her, and recently had the engine overhauled (this is the biggest selling point pushing me to buy it). The work he claims was done is:valves, rings, jugs, push rods and tubes. When I went to test drive it the thing ran beautifully, no smoke, started right up, was awesome. The thing I noticed though was that she was leaking a little oil. After about 10 minutes of sitting there were 3-4 smaller drops. The m8 who is selling it claims that this is due to the recent rebuild and the fact that all the pieces still need to seal themselves and find their place etc.

In general motors I would say he is full of BS, but I'm not very fluent with the VW motors. Does this sound possible/likely? Or is he full of it?

Thanks all in advance, I'll be sure to post more about her if I end up purchasing it.

I would be pretty suspicious. Try to find source of the leak.
