Warm Engine Start Problem - 2002 2.5L Transporter

2002 2.5l TDi Transporter
Starts fine in mornings on cold engine, but at end of day cannot get to crank over. All computer checks say that everything is as it should be. Have wasted money changing glow plugs (just in case the computer was wrong)- it wasn't. Still no start at end of day. Engine is not warm from running it has sometimes been sitting there all day since 8.00 am and at 4.30PM no go. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

RE: Warm Engine Start Problem

well, the only thing I can think of, is that, when your engine is cold, the valves are tight, but when it gets hot,....the vlaves dont seal, and inturn, you don't have compression, and with TDI, compression is everything with power, and efficiantcy. but at the same time, just becuase the computer didn't throw a code, that doesnt mean that the sensors are out of limits, it might be far enough out that the computer seas that, but doesn't throw a code, bucause its still in operating range......and make sure to check your carnk possions sensor, cam sensor, and your coolent temp sensor, the coolent sensor would be your best bet, cuss that tells the computer hom much fuil to inject, due to the temp of the engine, as well as feed back from the MAS and MAP sensor..... try looking there, and you might get alot closed to finding your problem.... good luck, I hope I have helped out a little. have a good one.
