VW Transporter (95) 1.9TD dead
 

hello, today me and a friend was driving his van when it started to lose power,,,
we went from his home and 3 min down the road it started to judder, power was down and there was loads of smoke coming out the exhurst,,,, now it wont start,,,, i can rule the turbo out as it was running fine with out any smoke,,, am thinking on the lines of the head gasket or dirty diesel,,, does any one have a idea what can be wong, big thanks to any one that replies to this :D

i had the exact same problem back along!! i needed to replace the fuel filter due to dirty fuel... that fixed the problem at the time.... however.... i have had other problems since and think my headgaskets gone :s but it does sound like dirty fuel on yours - i hope anyway!
