2.5TDI Syncro flashing glow plug warning light - electrical problem
 

Hey,

I drive a year 2000 T4 Syncro 2.5tdi and I’m looking to find a fix to the electrical problem it has.

One day while driving the glow plug warning light started to flash and the dashboard backlight went out. Later I noticed that also the small computer screen and the left rear light had gone out, and the battery drains by itself in a few days.

When I start the car everything else seems to work so far but the glow plug warning light starts to flash after some 20 seconds.

I’m in process of trying to get fault codes out with Torque but have had no luck.

What could be the problem? Where should I start to look to find a fix?

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.
