Snowchains suitable for Touareg

Hi
Please be gently this is my first post.
We are just purchasing a Touareg for the first time and plan to take it on a ski trip end of next week.
I have phoned VW dealers etc and nobody in the UK seems to be giving me the same answer.
Can anyone tell me from their experience what snowchains are allowed on this car
Tyre size is 275/45 size 19.
My partner is also worried that any chains may rub on the alloys of the wheels. Anyone have experience of this?
Lastly we are even been told different things about how many we need 2 or 4.
How can one question be so hard. That's the UK for you. If we have snow we all stop off work and say we cant get out of the drive.
I would appreciate any help anyone can give. This ski trip away for Christmas has me in panic mode now all because of snowchains.
Thanks.

RE: Snowchains suitable for Touareg

The answer would be to not have 19" rims. They start to warp the chassis and your car rattles. Furthermore they don't make off-road tires for those rims and chains are unnecessary if you have the correct tires, so go back and get the smaller ones.
