Headlight function switch

Hi
I have a 2011 Tiguan FWD and I was wondering how the headlight switch works.
Like how do I turn the switch to the light symbol down on the left of the picture, and what is that light ?,

Lower Lamp Picture is Fog/Driving Lamps... Pull Knob towards you, to activate those lights.
