Engine noise.. could be something related to the oil?

Hi all,

I bought this car privately (not from a dealer hence no warranty..) a few months ago and since then the car kept making weird noises. It started making them occasionally, with a frequency of every 5-7 days, but now it has become something which happens almost on a daily basis. The only thing which I figured out I can do to stop the noise is putting the transmission in neutral and my foot on the clutch. The car has been seen by two mechanics. The first one saw some metal pieces in the oil cup and suggested to change the entire engine which costs me a fortune. The second mechanic didn't spot any metal shavings because the oil was changed only a few days prior to the appointment.

The turbo and timing belt have already been changed last year by the previous owner. Also, the first mechanic mentioned to me the car was slightly leaking some oil before understanding what was going on. Other than that, the car has been driving fine and no lights have turned on. If you recognise this sound or may have an idea of what it could be, please let me know.
